Manual Encryption/Decryption

Manual Encryption

When you have a file you would like to encrypt, you can do so anytime with Manual Encryption.

Right-click on the file you want to encrypt and select "Send To", and then click on "WinSecure Manual Encryption".

Notes:

1. Any filename containing more than 512 characters (including path name) is invalid for encryption due to Windows restrictions.

2. In
Windows XP, 2000 and NT4.0, more than one user account may be created on the same PC.  In this case, only the user which installed WinSecure Lite will be able to see the WinSecure icons under gSend Toh when right clicking.  For these icons to be made available while logged on using another userfs account, the program giconadd.exeh must be used.  This program is located in the WinSecure Lite folder, under Programs/Systemneeds.  Simply double click on giconadd.exeh to instantly add the necessary icons.

The dialog box [Encryption] will be displayed as shown below.  Select either "Compress" or "Do not compress" and click
[OK] to start encryption.

Notes:

1. The file compression format used for the encryption is LHA.

2. The encryption is processed with the encryption key, which was generated by the Security Key entered at the time of installation.  Please note, therefore, decryption can be processed only on the same PC where the encryption was done.

3. The extension of the encrypted file changes to "
.trp"
Example: The file "ABC.txt"
becomes "ABC_txt.trp" after encryption is complete.

Manual Decryption

This feature enables you to decrypt your files manually.

Double click on the encrypted file which you want to decrypt.  You will be asked for your Authentication Access Code, if you set it up in the installation process.  Enter your Access Code and click [OK].  The decryption process will begin once your Access Code is verified.

Click [OK] when Decryption screen is displayed.
